I am getting the below error while trying to create a new email account in my cPanel. I tried cPanel update but issue is still there :(

The system encountered an error while modifying the email accounts password file: (XID 2vvq8y) The system failed to lock the file “/home/martin/etc/domain.com/passwd” because of an error: No such file or directory at /usr/local/cpanel/Cpanel/API/Email.pm line 1006.

The permission of etc directory under your cPanel account might be wrong. Please do the below steps if etc directory is missing in your cPanel account.

First go to the home directory of the user /home/martin and run the below commands.

cd /home/martin
mkdir etc
chmod 750 etc
chown martin.mail etc

Try creating the email account after doing the above steps.
